Gr. 5-7 Whistler Ski Trip Form
Dear Parent(s):
I am pleased to once again be offering a unique opportunity for grade 5 – 7 students to participate in a club that focuses on connections with nature, development of life skills, and character building. The Outdoor Adventure Club combined with the PE department, looks to take the grade 5 – 7 students on a variety of adventures such as river rafting, kayaking, ziplining and dragon boating to name a few we have done in the past. This year we are excited to once again offer skiing and snowboarding at Whistler on January 24thand 30th, 2019. These experiences are curriculum based and offer an invaluable educational experience. We only offer this trip ever 2 – 3 years, so we hope your take advantage of this opportunity.
We offer two days because we believe that growth and improvement is witnessed on the second day of the trip. The cost for the trip includes transportation to and from Whistler on a charter bus, lift ticket and rentals (if needed), all day group lesson (typically 5-10 students per group) at their skill level, and GPS trackers for all participants while they are on the mountain. It is excellent value for all that they receive. The instructors are some of the best in their field and do an excellent job teaching the children. I have personally organized this trip with other schools and 2 years ago with St. Bernadette’s and it is a one of a kind experience for the students. From the time we depart to our arrival back home it is a truly interactive and rewarding experience. The total cost is $270.00 for the two days. If your child were to do this outside of the school, the cost would be roughly $530.00 plus tax, transportation and parking. It is an excellent value for the experience for your child.
If you, as a parent, would like to travel with the students and ski up at Whistler, the same cost would apply, but you will not receive a lesson or GPS tracker and you would not beresponsible for supervision or chaperoning. If you are filling out the form for yourself, where it says grade, write in “parent”. Where it says ability level, please leave it blank. It is really important that you read the forms carefully and fully fill out the registration, medical and waiver forms. One form needs to be filled out and signed per person attending.
All signed documents and money are due by THURSDAY DECEMBER 20TH, 2018.
Refunds cannot be given if a child/parent does not attend the trip for any reason.
**NO LATE REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED**
Please click on the form below if you would like to participate in the trip.
