School Philosophy
We are a Christ-centred community, committed to creating a nurturing environment, recognizing the strengths in each child and fostering his or her continuing spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social and physical growth as preparation for life-long learning.
At St. Bernadette School we acknowledge that teaching will be more than a job. For we are called, not only to be witnesses of faith, but to serve God in the very important mission of evangelizing the students we teach, and their parents. We also acknowledge the parents as the primary educators of their children. We will help, in any way possible, to bring their children to a closer understanding of the meaning of belonging to the Catholic Church, through liturgies, the Eucharistic programme, involvement in field trips, flexibility, generosity and confidentiality.
In order to reach our goals, we need to be truly immersed in the Church ourselves, and to call on the help of His Holy Spirit to guide, direct, encourage and renew us. We will do this by praying together regularly, by caring for one another as members of a Christian family, by participating at Mass as often as possible and by being present to the needs of the entire community.
