PURDY’S CHOCOLATE AND GIFT CARD FUNDRAISERS
Dear parents, our second fundraiser of the year kicks off today with a double header. Not only will we be offering Purdy’s Chocolates, but also a wide variety of Gift Cards (GCs) for purchase. Look for the Purdy’s brochure in your oldest child’s folder today along with a letter of introduction to the GC fundraiser and a GC order form. You may order your Purdy’s chocolates either online or by returning the order form along with payment to the school. GCs are only able to be ordered via returning the order form along with payment before the deadline date to the school.
Pick-up is scheduled for Dec 15 & 16; however, if we can get everyone’s order submitted and sorted early, we may be able to schedule an early pick-up date during the school week.
HOLY CHILDHOOD
Last month students were given a Holy Childhood donation box. Students are asked to have their donation box returned to the school no later than THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 15TH
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL FOOD DRIVE
The grade 5 students are organizing our annual food drive for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. The goal this year is to collect over 2000 non-perishable food items. I am happy to announce that we surpassed our goal and collected our highest total of food ever -OVER 3100 items!!! This is on average a total of 14 items per student!!
To put this in perspective, when the grade 5s started doing this drive 4 years ago, our target was 1000 food items. What makes this total even more special is the variety of food we received from everyone. It showed that this event was not just about winning but truly coming together to help those in need.
I am so proud of how our students and parents have responded over the years and look forward to greater success in the years to come.
The entire school will have a non-uniform day this Friday, November 16th.
Gr. 1 won a second non-uniform day for bringing in 612 food items
Gr. 2 won a second non-uniform day and an extra-long recess for bringing in 672 food items
Gr. 4 won a pizza party, second non-uniform day and an extra-long recess for bringing in 850 food items.
The extra uniform days, long recesses and pizza party will be announce in the upcoming week.

BRINGING TOYS AND GAMES TO SCHOOL
St. Bernadette School at this time, does not prevent students from bringing toys and games to school. Children like to bring items to school to play and share with other kids. The school is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damage items. It is recommended that if the toy is of value to the family, that it should stay at home. Please have a talk with your child that they only bring items to school that would not cause devastation if it goes missing or is broken. At anytime, the school reserves the right to ask a child not to bring in their personal items to school if the school feels it is inappropriate to have at school and/or if it is causing issues among their peers.
