TRACK AND FIELD
It is hard to believe with all the snow we have been receiving that spring sports is starting up soon. For the spring St. Bernadette’s offers Track and Field for grade 3 – 7 students. Track and Field typically has the largest participation of any sport (usually over 100 students participating) and with the large amount of students to train and supervise we are in need of volunteers. There are many areas to help with, but we are very much in need of support in the following areas:
St. Bernadette Track Meet – Thursday April 25th – All Day – Concession Stand and handing out ribbons at the finish line.
Drivers to track Meets – Thurs. April 25th, Wed. May 10th and Wed. June 7th
If you are able to help out, please email Mrs. De Sousa @ grade2@stbernadette.ca
CONSTRUCTION
The city of Surrey will be installing a new water main on 65B Ave. The will involve road work in the area for roughly a month. We ask for your patience and courtesy towards the workers during this time. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Mr. van der Pauw through the office.
EARTH DAY
We will be celebrating Earth Day on Friday April 21st. We are turning it into a day of discover, stewardship and learning. We are asking families to donate cardboard boxes, old tires, anything that they thing would be useful to build a fort. It is only going to be as good as the items that are brought in. We are very much looking forward to the day!
MITE BOXES
Your child brought home his/her mite box on Ash Wednesday. It is a long time custom to invite students to make a Lenten sacrifice for vocations and it continues to be encouraged through the distribution of mite boxes to each child during the Lenten season. The purpose of this activity is not financial but SPIRITUAL. We are asking that all mite boxes be returned to school after Easter and no later than Friday, April 28th.
