 HOLY CROSS ALUMNI

Dear St. Bernadette Elementary,

Alumni of Holy Cross has created the the Holy Cross Alumni Association and we are trying to reach as many former students as possible. We truly want this to be a success and therefore are asking for your help. As many of those who went to Holy Cross now have children in CISVA elementary schools, we are asking for a mention of the Holy Cross Alumni Association in your school newsletter for a few weeks, preferably the month of December.  (Please see attached document.)

On behalf of the Holy Cross Alumni Association, I thank you for your time and consideration of this request.

Sincerely,

Sheila Vader

CHALICE

Grade 6 students are sponsoring a gently used Christmas sale from December 19 – 22. All items will be priced from $1.00 – $5.00. This is a great time for students to buy Christmas presents for family members. All proceeds will benefit Chalice, a Catholic charitable organization based in Nova Scotia with sites all over the world devoted to the health, education and well-being of children. If you have gently used items that you would like to donate to this worthy cause, please send them in to Grade 6. Thank you.

If you have any questions, please e-mail grade6@stbernadette.ca

STINGERS CLUB

With dismissal being at 12:15 on December 22nd the Stingers Club will be in session from 12:15 – 6:00, the drop-in fee is $30.00, if you are already registered with the Stingers Club there is an additional $10.00 fee, lunch will be provided.  Please contact Sheila for more information-stingersclub@stbernadette.ca

BINGO – IN DANGER OF CLOSING!

There was miscommunication in the recent bulletin that stated Bingo had enough volunteers.  It has in fact received interest, but no commitment at this point.

Our St. Bees Bingo is in critical need of more volunteers!  If we do not have enough volunteers trained an in place by December 19th, we will have to close our Bingo.  Please consider volunteering one Tuesday evening a month to keep our Bingo open.  We are most in need of callers!

The revenue that the parish receives from bingo is significant ($75,000+ annually) with the majority of the funds going to the school.  It is the main fundraiser for our school. With Bingo gone it would be a great loss felt by our parish and school community.  PLEASE,   Contact the Bingo office at 604-596-1833 if you can help.

Lights of Hope 2017

We are excited to once again announce our 3rd Annual Lights of Hope Campaign.  Packages have been  given to each student on Thursday Nov. 16th.  Please read below to learn more of how you can participate in this fundraising event.

SCHOOL CLOSURE

In the event of weather conditions, or unforeseen circumstances, the pastor, chairperson and principal will decide whether or not the school will be open on that day. Notice of school closures will be announced on CKNW 980 on the AM dial and posted on the school website when possible.

The Classroom Rep for your child will contact you when there is a school closure.  It is important that you notify the rep that you received the information.  They may have to happen more than once if you have multiple children in the school.

Please do not call the school; it is important that we keep all lines free in case of an emergency.

USED UNIFORMS

We are accepting good, clean used uniforms at the school.  A bin is located across from the office.  If you are in need of a uniform please email useduniforms@stbernadette.ca to make your request.  Please have all the sizing information listed in your email
