FAMILY CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS
Dear Families,
This Christmas season we at St. Bernadette are excited to start a new tradition.
We are inviting all families in the school to bring in a Christmas ornament (bought or handmade) with your family name and the year your family started at St. Bernadette written on it. Families who wish to participate can drop off their ornament to the office anytime. We will start placing the ornaments on the tree starting the first week of December.
The Family Tree will be located in the alcove between the learning commons and the gym. All ornaments brought in will be displayed every year.
We look forward to seeing all the ornaments and recognizing all the wonderful families we have in our community!
PURDY’S CHOCOLATE AND GIFT CARD FUNDRAISERS
Dear parents, our second fundraiser of the year kicks off today with a double header. Not only will we be offering Purdy’s Chocolates, but also a wide variety of Gift Cards (GCs) for purchase. Look for the Purdy’s brochure in your oldest child’s folder today along with a letter of introduction to the GC fundraiser and a GC order form. You may order your Purdy’s chocolates either online or by returning the order form along with payment to the school. GCs are only able to be ordered via returning the order form along with payment before the deadline date to the school.
Pick-up is scheduled for Dec 15 & 16; however, if we can get everyone’s order submitted and sorted early, we may be able to schedule an early pick-up date during the school week.
CASUAL FOR COVENANT HOUSE
Grade 3 students will be visiting the classes with Casual Day for Covenant House stickers. Children who purchase a sticker for a minimum $2.00 donation will be allowed to come to school out of uniform on November 27th. Students wishing to participate in Casual Day for Covenant House are asked to bring in their donation on November 27th.
For more information about Casual Day for Covenant House http://www.covenanthousebc.org/node/135. There will be a guest speaker from Covenant House at the school on Monday, November 26th to discuss the work that Covenant House does with the children.
CHILDREN BORN IN 2014
If you have a child who was born in 2014 and will be attending St. Bernadette School, it’s time to notify the school office so that we can keep a space open for your child. It is very important that we have an accurate numbers of siblings for Kindergarten.
BRINGING TOYS AND GAMES TO SCHOOL
St. Bernadette School at this time, does not prevent students from bringing toys and games to school. Children like to bring items to school to play and share with other kids. However, the school is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damage items. It is recommended that if the toy is of value to the family, that it should stay at home. Please have a talk with your child that they only bring items to school that would not cause devastation if it goes missing or is broken. At anytime, the school reserves the right to ask a child not to bring in their personal items to school if the school feels it is inappropriate to have it at school and/or if it is causing issues among their peers.
