OPEN HOUSE
We are excited to once again to be hosting our annual Open House on Sunday January 28th from 9am to 1pm. Teachers will have classroom displays, activities and take aways for the kids. Grade 7 Student Ambassadors will be hosting guided tours of the school and teachers will be there to answer any questions you may have. It is a great event where we get to showcase the school to the community. Kindergarten will be hosting a Ready. Set. Learn. event for children aged 3-4 years of age. No registration required.
We hope you are able to come by and visit after mass. Please let your family, neighbours, co-workers and friends know about the event. Positive word-of-mouth is the best compliment and gift you can give to the school!
CHARITABLE DONATIONS
St. Bernadette School shows tremendous generosity when it comes to the various charitable organizations we support throughout the year. This is exemplified in our recent recognition in the BC Catholic newspaper for our work with St. Vincent De Paul Society. Since the start of the school year, we have supported 3 other charitable organizations – Holy Childhood Association, Covenant House and Chalice. We are happy to report that we have raised the following funds for these organizations thanks to your generosity:
Holy Childhood Association – $1,084.33
Covenant House – $490.05
Chalice – $393.90
Between now and the end of the year we will be supporting the SPCA, Development and Peace, RCAV Charities, *Toonies for Tuition, and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. We look forward to your continued support.
*Toonies for Tuition is a new charity this year. More information to come in the following weeks.
