RE: Comfort Kits October 20th, 2014
Dear Parents,
In the event of an earthquake, St. Bernadette’s has enough food rations, water, and first aid supplies for every child in the school. In addition to these items, the school requests that each family sends a “comfort” package for each of their children at the school. This should contain:
– a note to the child telling them of your plans to get them from school as soon as possible,
– a family photo,
– a small game or deck of cards and perhaps a small cuddly toy (for the younger child).
This must fit into a 30cm x 26cm Ziploc bag. Larger bags and items that do not fit into the bag will be sent back home.
The kit will be stored in our emergency container until June. At that time the kits will be returned to the family and we will collect the kits back again the following year. The school takes safety of your child very seriously. We ask that you spend some time and have an age appropriate conversation with your child(ren) about emergencies and how your child(ren) should behave in such a situation.
We thank you for your support in this matter. Please bring the comfort kits to the school before October 31st, 2014.
Yours in Christ,
Michael van der Pauw
Principal
