HALLOWEEN COSTUMES
This is a reminder that St. Bernadette School will allow students to dress up for Halloween. Student who wish not to dress up may come in Halloween colours or they may wear their uniform.
If your child is coming in costume we would like to once again remind you of the following:
1. Children are not to wear costumes that would be deemed inappropriate. We ask that costumes refrain from portraying violent characters and/or images, and promoting characters and/or imagery that depicts parts of society that causes harm to others.
2. All weapons, no matter how fake or harmless they are (foam, cardboard, etc.), must be kept at home. We have had great success in the past with families complying with this request.
3. When entering the school property we ask that for identity and safety purposes that masks and hoods are removed. They can wear their masks during the Halloween Parade
Please remember that wearing a costume is a privilege and the principal reserves the right to ask any student to remove their costume for any reason.
We will have our annual Costume Parade for the students at 1:00pm on Halloween. Parents are more than welcome to come and watch the students parade from classroom to classroom.
GOLDEN EAGLE DRUMMERS
Our school welcomes the Golden Eagle Drummers, a First Nations Elder group, on Tuesday, October 23 in the gym from10:00 to 11:00. They will teach our students a few songs and talk about the importance of some First Nations traditions. We welcome all parents to join us for this wonderful assembly and learn a little more about First Nations culture. Hope to see you there!
